Hi! My name is Einar Már Sonjuson. I'm from Reykjavík, Iceland, but currently living in Stockholm, Sweden. I’m currently working as a Graphic and Motion design intern at Dallas STHLM. Before moving to Sweden, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication at the Iceland University of the Arts, graduating in 2024. I mainly work with Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, InDesign, and Procreate. I also have experience with Photoshop, Blender, and Glyphs.
Education
2021–2024, Iceland University of the Arts, B.A. in Visual Communication.
2025–2026, Hyper Island, Diploma in Motion Creative.
Work experience
2025–, Internship at Dallas STHLM.
My first ever project in Hyper Island. The task was to create a 4 second animation about anything. I've always been fascinated with planets and so I decided to make an animation about our solar system. Made in After Effects.
My second project at Hyper Island was to create a walking cycle. I thought it would be fun to make my character do a secondary action while walking and so I thought of a viking in battle. Character was designed in Illustrator and animated in After Effects.
This task was about making a Spotify canvas for a song of our own choosing. I chose "my mind is a mountain" by Deftones. I made a frame-by-frame animation in Procreate and then imported it into a particle system I had made in TouchDesigner.
This was the first group task we got at Hyper Island. Our task was to make an animated poster. We chose to make a poster about an event showcasing mushrooms. Specifically about how versatile and powerful they can be.
Toolbox is a font inspired by the screw nut. The initial spark for the idea came from looking at the interesting shape of the nut. The inside is round while the outside is straight and pointy. That is the main rule I kept throughout the entire process of creating this font.

Hnefatafl was a graduation project made in the Iceland University of the Arts. The project focused on Hnefatafl, a board game that was played in the viking ages in Scandinavia and northern Britain. The gameplay of Hnefatafl is similar to Chess, where each player moves one piece per turn. However Hnefatafl is different in both the goal and setup. The challenge with this project was in the production of the game pieces, board, instruction manual and box. The game pieces and board are made out of plywood that has been laser cut, glued together and painted over. The box was screen printed and then glued together onto a paperboard, similar to bookbinding. For the visual style, I took inspiration from how you think and strategize when you are playing, you are constantly trying to think a couple steps ahead, so you draw lines on the board with your mind on where you want your pieces to go.

Redesign of the visual style for the graduation event at the Iceland University of the Arts. The project was made in the course Verksmiðja (Workshop).
Poster designed in the course Farvegir og form (Channels and forms). In the project I try to find out whether people can see the difference between designs made by humans and AI.
